When it first started, I, like most women, was drawn to Pinterest
like a moth to a flame. Everything on there was so… perfect. The yummy
foods, the houses that were always organized and tastefully decorated,
the clothes no normal woman could actually wear.
I pinned like
a woman possessed. Here was the life I always wanted to have…someday.
This year, I decided was going to be my year.
One of my
new year's resolutions was to actually use/make things I had pinned. I
realized it was silly to get these ideas and not use them. What was I
waiting for? The time was now.
Since the beginning of the year, I try to do one Pinterest recipe a week. Sometimes it works out well, sometimes not so much.
Some
of our favorites include Chicken Taco Casserole (so good and so easy -
we've made it several times), Simple Spaghetti Carbonara (was a little
bit heavy on ingredients but kids loved it), Overnight French Toast (my latest attempt for Easter morning - soooo good and pretty easy to toss together), and our new favorite dessert - Cake Batter Brownies. They are truly OMG good!
Not all recipes have lived up to their hype. Baked Parmesan Paprika Chicken was not "WOW!" like I was promised. Cream Cheese Chicken was good, but not "Holy Crap" good, and certainly not worth the effort to make.
Paula Deen Cheeseburger Casserole was good, but not worth the time and
money for ingredients (it was a little like hamburger helper). Chicken
Spaghetti was easy, and somewhat tasty, but not "FAVORITE recipe ever"
good.
Going forward, I will try to update weekly or
more often with pics and our recipe reviews. I figure writing this intro
was my first step to accountability for my resolution. And yes, since
it is April, I might have procrastination issues.
So here we go, living the pinterest life!
